I had the same problem, about two years ago, as Lisa MacQueen (Argus, April 19). I was sterilised after having my last child in December 1995. I had him by Caesarean section.
When he was four years old, I did not even realise I was six weeks pregnant and, of course, lost the baby by miscarriage. I can understand how Lisa feels. I went back to the hospital to find out why it had happened and all the staff could tell me was "everything was still swollen from carrying the baby for nine months and it may have not worked out".
What I still don't get is that it had taken four years for this to happen. They also told me that if I did want another child there would be about five per cent chance
of falling pregnant. So, again, why did it happen? I'm now taking contraception - for what?
