A skateboarding park is top of the list of facilities young people want to see in their city.
They say it should be in Bartholomew Square, opposite Brighton Town Hall.
This was just one of the findings of a task group set up by Brighton and Hove City Council called Young People in Power.
Monthly meetings involved young people, local councillors, youth workers and council officers.
The youngsters also want entry to gigs for under-18s with IDs checked at the bar and not the door.
They say more under-age nights are needed beside the one at the Event in West Street.
More "cool" places are needed all over the city for young people to hang out, other than youth centres.
The youngsters also said information by the council should be bright, accessible and displayed in places such as Churchill Square and local chip shops.
The report adds: "Libraries also need to be transformed so they are attractive places to go."
It also says councillors and officers should receive training on working with young people and the youngsters themselves need support so they are able to speak out clearly.
The report reads: "At town halls and King's House (the council headquarters), young people attending meetings have been treated with suspicion and talked down to by receptionists and other staff."
It also suggets a youth section in the civic newspaper City News and a yearly guide about Brighton and Hove for young people.
A group of youngsters will present the findings of the report to members of the council on Thursday.
