Carley Wenham from Crawley posted an English Schools standard times in an under-15s 100m and 200m victory double at her club's Open, clocking 12.6sec and 26.2sec respectively.
Amala Onoura (Eastbourne) was also inside the standard, winning the under-17s 100m in 12.5sec. Sprinter Caroline Wilson (Crowborough) stepped up to 300m in her first year at under-17s to pip Jenny Bliss (Brighton and Hove).
Her time of 42.4sec chopped a second off her previous best. Jenny's 42.6sec was also a best.
Jenny finished fifth in the 80m hurdles in 12.8sec. Another under-17s newcomer, Emma Perkins from Worthing, clocked 12.2sec for second.
In the under-17 boys events, Simon Cooke, from Chichester, who attends school outside the county and won English Schools under-15 discus title last year for Surrey, won the shot and discus at under-17s.
With the heavier implements, he shot 13.30m and achieved the entry discus standard with 41.04m. Richard Clayton (Worthing) won the 800m by a second in 2:04.8sec. The standard for the under-17 800m is 1min.59sec.
