Call me an old fart if you like but I speak for thousands of others regarding children in pubs ("Early-doors bore", Opinion, April 21).
People in my age group have had all their kids and all they want now is a bit of peace and quiet after the stress and hard work of bringing up their children.
We had to abide by certain rules, so why shouldn't people nowadays?
The pub is, or was, the only place anyone could go without kids screaming and running around; a place where they could sit and have a quiet drink. But even that is ruined now.
If children of today were well behaved, as John Hoye says his are, things may be different.
Most have no manners and, if you tell them "no", all you get is abuse - even from small kids. Usually they are oblivious to others because they are screaming too loud. Why do they do that?
