I lived in Brighton, where I was born and bred, for 64 years.
We moved down to Cornwall when we retired, still visiting Brighton to see the families but not venturing into the town.
This Easter week, we spent a few days going around looking at the Lanes, which are now dying a slow death, with so many coffee shops.
In North Street, many shops are closed and there is graffiti written all over the boards.
There was filth lying around in gutters and on the pavements, litter everywhere.
The Royal Pavilion grounds were spotless, as was the Mall at Churchill Square, but the square was full of litter.
I spoke to many Brightonians on our travels, who felt Brighton had deteriorated over the years. Have you no roadsweepers now?
Come on, Brighton, pull your socks up and return the town to how it was when we lived there. Make Brighton smart again now it is part of a city.
