I am sure many people will be deeply concerned that East Sussex Social Services has not only axed the 80p a day wages from people with mental health problems who use the Avid Way adult training centre in Newhaven in the interests of "economy" but are also seriously considering depriving them of the hot meal which is so beneficial to their health.
Folk with learning difficulties are the most deserving members of our society and the message getting through to them in East Sussex is that they are regarded as of no value.
If East Sussex County Council needs to make economies, let it hit the healthy and wealthy members of society first. After all, most of us can understand the need for cuts and often weather the storm.
