Vernon Roper has struck a big blow for all disabled sportsmen and women by being persistent and determined.
He was refused permission to use a motorised buggy on Singing Hills golf course north of Brighton by the management.
Mr Roper took expert advice, went to the small claims court and won his case.
Not only will he be able to play golf there but other disabled people may be able to follow suit.
Golf buggies can cause problems on courses, especially in wet weather.
This applies particularly at Singing Hills which is in the Weald rather than on well-drained downland.
But Mr Roper, as a keen golfer, is well aware of that and will respect the course. He will only play when conditions are good.
Part of the enjoyment of golf for many players is the walk which can amount to five miles on a typical course.
But for people such as Vernon Roper, who has multiple sclerosis, this simply is not possible.
This ruling means he will be able to get out in the fresh air and enjoy his sport as much as anyone else.
It was churlish of Singing Hills to ban Mr Roper and its bosses have been properly put in their place now.
