As it is highly likely we are about to enter the election period we can expect the three major parties to make pronouncements regarding what they would do if elected to power.

There is one vital difference between them, however.

Whereas both the Tory and Lib Dem parties are sure they won't be elected, the Labour party is certain it will.

Its promises, therefore, will be made with the caution which follows from such expectation and so will merit greater credence.
