Southern FM radio star Terry Garoghan is celebrating today after scooping a Sony Award last night.

His show Last Bus To Whitehawk won a silver award at the so-called Radio Oscars, beating the likes of national DJs Mark and Lard and Jonathan Ross.

Terry's cult talk show is broadcast from Mondays to Thursdays from 10pm to midnight and has built up a core following in its three years on air.

Many listeners call the show to face a verbal lashing from Terry's sharp wit.

Terry said he was delighted at the win. He said: "I have never entered before, and to be nominated was everything because it was national recognition for someone working locally."
