There is no dispute about who is top dog at a Brighton-based computing company.
Fearless Computing's faithful office hound, William, is the recipient of more email through the company's web site than any other member of the team.
Liz Betts-Gosling, managing director, takes ten year-old William into work each day. She said: "The web site offers plenty of opportunity to email a person to have contact with a human member of staff.
"But we have a picture and email link for William and people seem to want to speak to him. We recently had a recruitment drive and we often receive unsolicited CVs from information technology and web technicians.
"We noticed they all click to email our William. We can't help wondering why people in this industry feel compelled to apply for work from the company dog."
Ms Betts-Gosling started Fearless Computing in 1988 after teaching as an IT lecturer at Northbrook College, Lancing.
The company, with a staff of seven, provides a full range of computer services, including customised PC systems and software to full support and development.
Last year, web design was introduced to the portfolio of services and a dedicated designer joined the team.
Rottingdean-based novelist Elvi Rhodes was one of the firm's first web clients.
William doggedly declined to comment on his new found online popularity.
