Reader Rabbit is the central character in a collection of CD-ROMS produced by The Learning Company.
He's an appealing, traditional looking character with an assortment of animal friends.
The object of this game, aimed at four to six-year-olds, is to complete eight different activities to create supplies for Sam the Lion's surprise birthday party.
It promotes skills such as categorising, logic and reasoning, sequencing and problem-solving.
There are three levels to work through. The game monitors your child's progress and adjusts these levels to each player's needs.
The graphics are fun and bright without being garish and an added bonus is the ability to print cheerful wrapping paper and personalised party invitations in a variety of designs.
There are not any skills on this game that couldn't be learned with a simple selection of objects from around the home but children will probably find this approach more fun and it will reinforce computer skills that they are learning at school.
If you think it's a good idea that kids learn from computers then this is a game you should invest in for your young childnren.
