The manager of the Black Lion has declared war on what he and some of his less knowing customers would disdain, the humble pea (Argus, April 24).
Big things come in small packages. Experiments carried out more than a year ago and reported in the national Press produced a surprising result concerning the pea.
While measurements of raw vegetables give others higher folic acid levels, somehow, after digestion, the pea delivers the highest levels of all to the bloodstream.
Pregnant women, take note. Mothers, take note and let them eat peas if they won't swallow the broccoli.
As for the Black Lion... perhaps the menu is just plain boring and does not do justice to those peas.
