I had to smile at your story of Lewes Labour Party considering taking legal action against another political party for borrowing Labour's trademark rose symbol.
In 1987, when Peter Mandelson stole the symbol of England - my country, which I have served all my life - and trademarked the artwork of an English rose, created before the reign of Henry VIII, for his own political ends, I and many other patriots were infuriated.
If there is to be a court hearing, it will be very interesting to see if a judge worth an ounce of English salt throws it out.
