Sussex hope it's a case of third time lucky when they try to get their Benson and Hedges Cup campaign off the ground tomorrow.
The county are due to play their third tie against Middlesex at Hove from 10.45am.
All the matches in the south zonal group have so far been rained off including Sussex's game against Essex on Tuesday and yesterday's tie at the Oval against Surrey.
Heavy rain began falling in London before the start and umpires Graham Burgess and Jeremy Lloyds didn't bother to inspect the outfield, which was soon covered in puddles, before abandoning the match at 2pm.
Sussex have two points from their two washouts so victory in two of their last three games should be enough to secure a quarter-final place for the second season running.
They entertain Kent at Hastings on Sunday before visiting Hampshire's new ground at West End on Bank Holiday Monday.
Meanwhile, former Sussex and England captain Ted Dexter has been appointed the new president of the MCC.
