In Coldean, residents are well aware of the problems that have arisen from travellers illegally staying in Coldean Woods and nearby Crowhurst Road.
Bags of rubbish are left lying around and, because there are no sanitary facilities, there is a health hazard to the whole community.
Brighton and Hove is a soft touch for travellers. All too often, Brighton and Hove City Council gives in and lets the travellers stay.
Brighton and Hove is not a campsite. It is a well-respected seaside resort. If it is to remain so, action should be taken. I agree 100 per cent with David Gold and the Tories on this.
Landowners deserve compensation from travellers who cause damage. The legal system needs shaking up and better enforcement.
At the moment, there are too many loopholes which travellers exploit to their full advantage. Let's be proud of our city and not sit idly by while it turns into a ghetto.
