Albion boss Micky Adams has saluted his squad strength following a stuttering start for his new coach.
A makeshift Seagulls side shrugged off another nightmare trip to Yorkshire in last night's goalless draw at Halifax, which ensured the home side are safe from relegation.
The team coach ran out of petrol on the way back to Brighton last week after the Halifax game had been rained off.
Albion axed the coach company and replaced them with London firm Dunn-Line for the rearranged fixture.
But a flat battery at Warwick Services yesterday afternoon meant the Seagulls' championship heroes had to push the coach so the driver could jump start it.
It did not affect the reliability of Albion's performance, despite six changes from the title triumph against Chesterfield at Withdean on Tuesday and a second half debut for goalkeeper Will Packham.
Among the exclusions was 31-goal Bobby Zamora, who sat out the match on the bench.
Adams said: "I gave the people on the fringes a game as a reward for all their hard work this season. We got another point, a clean sheet and Will made his debut, so there were a lot of pluses.
"It's not about the 11 who play, it's a squad game and this proved we have got a decent squad, which we will need in the Second Division next season.
"The lads that came in worked hard and we did not undervalue the occasion."
Halifax's point leaves Barnet and Torquay to fight it out for survival at Underhill tomorrow, while Albion complete their fairytale campaign at Shrewsbury.
"We have reached 92 points, which is a great total," said Adams. "If you get two points a game you normally win the League and we have done that.
"We can relax and enjoy tomorrow now, because it will be a marvellous occasion for everyone."
