A schoolgirl found safe after disappearing for four days is missing again.

There were concerns today that 12-year-old Margaret Echel-Thomson may have tried to meet people she contacted through internet chat rooms.

Her family and police today appealed to anyone spotting her or knowing her whereabouts to come forward.

Margaret first ran away last week but was found on the Palace Pier, Brighton, after an Argus reader recognised her. She was reported missing again on Tuesday evening after she failed to return home from Dorothy Stringer School, Brighton.

Margaret's parents, on holiday in Cuba, tried to arrange an early flight home and will return this weekend.

Margaret's cousin Lorna Adero, 20-year-old architecture student at Brighton University, has been caring for Margaret at the family home in Preston Park Avenue.

Lorna pleaded with Margaret to come home, adding: "She hasn't taken anything with her. She is dressed in just her school uniform, a white shirt, black trousers and Nike trainers."

Police said the first time Margaret ran away she slept rough, sometimes on Brighton beach.

She was using chat rooms on the internet at home and her cousin fears she may have arranged to meet people.

Lorna said: "She has been advertising, searching for a man, but I don't know if she arranged to meet anyone. She is only 12 but she tells people she is 17."

Sergeant Steve Curry said: "She is only 12 and we consider her vulnerable."
