A recording of Just A Minute was always going to be a winner but, to make things even better, the tickets were free.
It's no wonder then that the event was a sell-out, with tickets flying out of the box office without any hesitation (or deviation or repetition).
The beloved Radio 4 panel game has been on the air for 35 years now but its format is still as fresh as it was when Kenneth Williams innuendoed his way through the 60-second slot.
Jenny Eclair, Paul Merton, Clement Freud and Julian Clary are the top of the current crop of minute mouthers. So it was obvious we were in for a good night as soon as the line-up was announced.
The funniest moment probably came when Clement Freud was asked to talk about Fat Boy Slim. Instead, he discussed the excavations of a tubby prehistoric body and went on to explain it was a fat boy's limb that was found.
Jenny Eclair can sometimes be grating on the radio show but she was genuinely funny in this recording, especially when pontificating on "why it's good to be a woman".
Watching the show rather than listening to it only enhances the experience, especially as you can see all the secret looks starting between the panellists - and the spectacular spangly nature of Jenny Eclair's cowboy boots.
