Marathon man Len Jones, who raised thousands for cancer charities in memory of his three wives, has died.
Len, 85, died in St Wilfrid's Hospice at Chichester after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
During his amazing running career he raised an estimated £100,000 to help fight cancer.
Last year Len finally decided to hang up his running shoes after taking part in around 70 marathons.
He was also awarded the MBE to mark his achievements for charity and immediately dedicated it to his wives Muriel, Jean and Monica whom he described as "three truly wonderful women".
Len, of Aldwick Felds, Bognor, had already been diagnosed as being in the early stages of Motor Neurones Disease when he was sponsored to take part in his final event, the 13-mile Great North Run last year.
But despite illness, age and starting at the back he still managed to pass many other runners on the way to the finishing line.
His partner Margaret Plowman said: "Len raised more than £100,000 through his running and he was a truly wonderful man."
The funeral will be at Chichester Crematorium on Monday at 12.30pm.
