Brighton and Hove does not deserve its city status. It's filthy, black rubbish bags are everywhere and the main entrance into Brighton has rubbish bags all over the pavement at weekends.
In Edward Street, especially near the top, people put bags out the day after collection and they stay there all week.
I find it distressing, as I am sure most caring people do.
Brighton and Hove may be a city, but it also has its problem areas. With so many bedsits, some people have nowhere to put their rubbish. It should be collected every day to help keep our streets clean and tidy for the good of all. During the past year, it has got far worse. Come on, Brighton and Hove, clean up.
I have just come back from a tour of the West Country. I did not see one plastic bag anywhere. The countryside is clean. There are no rubbish dumpers.
Someone is not doing their job properly. Collecting rubbish once a week is not enough in the centre of a city. Let's be proud of our city status instead of ashamed. If you want my vote, clean up.
