The two Hove policemen who issued parking tickets to the Labour Party's entourage when John Prescott visited the city last week said they had no idea who the cars belonged to and claimed it was pure chance the tickets were issued.

If this is so, no wonder there is so much crime in the city. Their powers of observation must be seriously limited.

They must have failed not only to notice the Labour Party banners and John Prescott himself but also the reporters and the Press photographers.

In one photo, a policemen could clearly be seen in the background watching the arrival of the entourage. It certainly looks like a stitch-up to me.
