Thank you for publishing my letter about the Boys' Brigade (Stedfast Association). What a lovely surprise to see the reply from Mr Clark of Salisbury, Australia (Opinion, May 12), who is a former member of my old company, the 12th Brighton Railway Mission.
I seem to recall his family. I think he may have had a sister, Joyce, who was in the Girls' Life Brigade.
How nice to know The Argus is read in Australia - it just goes to show how your news spreads far and wide.
The 10th Brighton (Hove) Company is holding its 102nd annual display and presentation of awards on Friday, May 18, at Hove Park Upper School Hall at 7.30pm. All will be welcome to join, especially any old boys of the company.
One often reads parents' letters in The Argus about their children being bored. Why don't they encourage them to join the BB instead of hanging around the shops as they do? We never had time to be bored in the Boys' Brigade, there were always so many activities going on.
