A car crashed through a garden wall and into a house as a grandmother and her pregnant daughter sat in the living room.
Two men and two women in the Peugeot 205, all their twenties, were taken to hospital with minor injuries after the smash last night in Escots Drive, East Grinstead.
The grandmother, her daughter and her two children who were also in the house, were shocked but not injured.
A fire brigade spokesman said: "When we arrived the paramedics were already there. The young people in the car were very lucky. The lady in the house was sitting in the corner just where the car crashed.
"If it had been a few feet away it would have gone through the patio windows and the women in the house could have been badly injured."
Three of the occupants of the Peugeot were taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath and one was taken to East Surrey Hospital.
