Mid Sussex rivals Lindfield and Ansty face each other in a top versus second battle this weekend after both enjoyed their second win of the season on Saturday.
Lindfield got home by four wickets at East Preston and have an eight point lead over newly promoted Ansty who won off the last ball against last season's runners-up Crawley.
It didn't look good for Lindfield when they collapsed to 50-6 chasing East Preston's modest 113.
But Harold Torkington, who was captaining the side in the absence of David Whear, and Phil Weir both made 38 not out to steer their side to victory.
Earlier Weir, who is in his first season with the club after moving into the area from Kent, took 3-20 while new ball partner John Sutton returned 4-26. Keith Chamberlain held EP's innings together with an undefeated 43.
Simon Parsons was the Ansty hero as they squeezed past Crawley by seven runs.
The visitors needed 11 off the last over with two wickets in hand, but Parsons took a wicket with the first delivery and then removed Andy Wales off the last ball when the batsman edged a lifter off the shoulder of the bat straight to Richard Nichols at first slip.
Earlier Ansty had made 150-9 with Kevin Nichols top-scoring on 34 while Dave Gillett took 3-34.
Parsons finished with 4-15 in Crawley's 143 while Peter Elliott kept the visitors in the hunt for victory until he was run out for 39.
Nine teams in Division One have still to record a win, but Barns Green, Henfield and Pagham did break their duck for the season on Saturday.

Selsey's Peter Benham made an unbeaten 128 and opening partner A.Horner 74 as their side cruised to a ten wicket win at Wisborough Green, overhauling Wisborough's 216-7 in just 35.4 overs. Earlier K.Vickery made 80 and Dean Vallance 76.
Billingshurst's Jamie Wood was the man of the match as his side beat Broadbridge Heath by four wickets in a low-scoring contest to move into third place.
The former Lancing College pupil took 5-28 with his medium pacers as Heath were dismissed for 112. Billingshurst struggled to 54-6 in reply, but Wood made 36 not out and Nick Turner an undefeated 25 to steer their side to victory.
A first wicket stand of 105 between Bruce Scott (78 not out) and skipper Matt Warren (30) eased Angmering Manor to a nine wicket win over St Andrews. Scott had earlier taken 3-25 and Cliff Thomas 4-30 as Saints were dismissed for 149 despite 73 from J.J. Davies.
