Roy Hilliard (Opinion, May 10) made some very complimentary remarks about my programmes for Radio Sussex in the early Nineties and wondered where I am now.
I am one of the staff announcers for BBC World Service in London, where I present news programmes, read bulletins and make continuity announcements on the English-language service, which has a global audience of 43 million.
However, I haven't forgotten my local roots. I still live in Sussex and retain an interest in local radio.
I have recently joined the board of the Wireless Broadcasting Company (WBC) in Worthing, which will be applying for a full-time radio licence for that area when it is advertised by the Radio Authority later this year.
Although acting in an unpaid, advisory capacity, I'm sure I can be persuaded by WBC to present the occasional programme after the licence is awarded next year.
So stay tuned for Legge Over Worthing.
