After all the controversy last year over the street market at Brighton's West Pier, what an astonishing turnaround when I visited last weekend.
Friendly traders, colourful and imaginative stalls, disabled access. Terrific.
The traders were right, it seems, to insist on keeping the market.
What an asset. With so many of the former cast in the town, it really does seem like EastEnders by the sea.
