New plans have been submitted to redevelop the former headquarters of The Argus in Brighton.
City Lofts Developments has put in a scheme to the city council for the site of Argus House, off North Road in Brighton.
The scheme involves restoring and converting the main early 20th Century building and recladding and extending the Sixties frontage with a new building at the Gloucester Road end.
This would provide 62 apartments, 18 other homes, shopping, a restaurant, workshop and offices.
There would also be space for the Brighton Festival fringe on the ground and basement floors.
The scheme is similar to one which gained planning permission from the council but which was never implemented.
Much of the building was badly damaged by fire in 1999.
