Eastbourne has an image of being an old-fashioned resort with an ageing and fusty population.
But that's all changing now as the attractive town is being sought after as a desirable place both by home owners and visitors.
As a result, there are boutiques, trendy furniture stores and coffee bars galore springing up in the town centre streets.
Businesses find it congenial to settle there because the rents are so much cheaper than in Brighton and there are no inner city problems.
There is still a place in Eastbourne for the tea shops and stores favoured by the older generation.
But the influx of modern bars and shops has brightened the resort up considerably and given it a more welcoming, cosmopolitan air.
