Vintage vehicle buffs had a field day as a popular rally attracted thousands of people to Buckingham Park, Shoreham.
Attractions at the 24th annual Adur Vintage Car Show included a pre-First World War Model T Ford, a Green Dragon fire engine and a 1965 Cadillac.
One couple determined to brave the dull weather was Marie and Phillip Lefelle, of Westbourne Place, Hove.
They picnicked on smoked salmon sandwiches and champagne from the boot of their 1923 Bentley.
The show was organised by Adur East Lions Club and is a fund-raising event for local charities. Treasurer Geoff Sparrow said he hoped the event would top last year's total of £3,500.
