I would like to thank The Argus for the very positive editorial on Stoneham Park and the surrounding area (May 26). But where on earth did you get the idea I am a Tory councillor?
I am a Labour councillor and proud of it. Together with my fellow ward councillor, Pat Murphy, I work hard to represent the local community.
Indeed, it is only since Wish ward elected Labour councillors that the area has seen significant improvements. From the redevelopment of Portland Gate, the Co-op bakery site and the old Colman's factory to the creation of the paddling pool at Hove Lagoon and traffic calming and Stoneham Park, the area is seeing real investment after years of Tory neglect.
Let's hope the voters don't make the same mistake on June 7.
-Coun Heather James, Labour, Wish ward
