After two rounds of the Southern Women's Leagues, no Sussex clubs appear in immediate danger relegation.

In Division Two, where there are four Sussex clubs involved, Crawley have made a remarkable revival.

After several years where they have come so close to dropping down to Division Three, they are currently fourth, in a promotion place.

Horsham, who were unlucky to be relegated from Division One last season, are currently tenth while Brighton & Hove are 14th and Worthing 18th out of the 25 teams.

Division Three sees Hastings lying fourth while Chichester, who were promoted from division four last season, are 12th.

Division Four is regionalised and East Grinstead are second in the west division, with Phoenix sixth and Haywards Heath eighth. Eastbourne are tenth in the east.

Crawley are in Blackpool today for their British League Division Four match and will be eager to bolster their chances of promotion at the end of the season.

Discus thrower Ashley Ward is ruled out by business commitments while sprinter and long jumper Matt Barclay will be saving himself for Sunday's Young Athletes League match.

Manager Mark Sheridan is aiming for a top three placing and said: "I am certain Blackpool, who finished fourth in the first match, are going to be much stronger at home.

"Rugby were also a little weak in the first match while Luton and Swindon are both determined to do well."

The second round of the Southern Men's League sees Division One club Worthing, who won their opening match, travelling to Peterborough while Hastings have home advantage.
