Daredevils will have the chance to experience the same thrill as hamsters get rolling around in a large plastic ball with a new craze called Zorbing.
Zorbonauts can head for Stanmer Park in Brighton to be strapped into a large clear plastic ball which is then rolled down the nearest hill. About 2ft of air between the Zorbonaut and the ground cushions them as they hurtle down hill at speeds of up to 50km per hour.
Those waiting to have their ride in a Zorb, the latest craze from New Zealand, will be able to get further involved by laying face up in the path of the giant ball.
The Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust in Sussex is to organise the first Zorb fund-raising event in the UK with the help of Zorb South.
The charity's area fund-raising manager for Sussex, Jean Rolfe, said: "We are really excited about this event."
Eager Zorbing Zorbonauts should go along to Stanmer Park, Brighton, on August 18 to have a go at the new thrill. Registration is £10, with a further £15 payable on the day.
Anyone interested should apply for an entry form from Jean Rolfe at Glenmore, Worthing Road, Dial Post, West Sussex RH13 8NH, on 01403 713595 or email jean.rolfe@popmail.anthonynolan.org.uk
