Brighton is already one of the most attractive cities in the country for people migrating from other parts of Britain.
It is loved for its shops, seaside attractions, bars, nightlife but also its raffish and seedy subcultures.
Now the city's shopping centre is emerging as the most fashionable place for rich professionals to live as work starts on a new luxury development. North Street is being transformed into a trendy city living quarter - but most of the properties will be out of the price range of most local people.
Some of the flats in Prince's House, which will sell for between £200,000 and £600,000, are sure to attract flash Londoners with an eye for the sea.
This is more good news for Brighton which has proved it is THE Place to Be with the award of city status. It has earned its reputation as a shopping, leisure and nightlife magnet and this new showpiece development will cement that.
