Schoolgirl Kirsty Norris has been reunited with her family two weeks after disappearing.
The 13-year-old girl turned up at a friend's house on Friday and is now back with her mother Carol at their home in Moulsecoomb, Brighton.
Kirsty, a special needs pupil at Uplands School, in Hollingdean, has a mental age of eight.
She disappeared on June 22 after leaving a neighbour's house to walk to her home in Birdham Road.
She was believed to have been with an older man and family members spent the last two weeks scouring Brighton and Hove and distributing leaflets in an attempt to trace the youngster.
Several sightings were reported but the family and police were unable to find her.
Yesterday a relieved Mrs Norris thanked everyone who had helped look for Kirsty and who had called to express concern.
She said: "She just turned up at her friend Katie's house. She was in shock and upset.
"We're still not sure exactly what happened.
"She says she was sleeping in an old caravan quite near to here and she wanted to ring me up but wasn't allowed to.
"We think she went to London at one point."
Kirsty said: "I didn't know everyone was looking for me. I saw police cars and the police were looking out but they didn't stop."
Police have arrested and questioned a man in connection with Kirsty's disappearance. He has been released on bail.
