Peter Moores insists Sussex can find the answer to their one-day conundrum at Old Trafford tomorrow.

The county will be underdogs as they tackle Lancashire in the last 16 of the C&T Trophy.

Sussex are flying high in the Championship but the clash with the red rose county offers their last realistic chance of one-day success and Moores is adamant his side can come good.

The Sussex coach declared: "This is a great chance to go up there and really get our one-day season underway.

"We have got to show the fight and spirit that has been the trademark of Sussex when we have played well.

"That has been missing in one-day games which has been disappointing. Hopefully we can put that right and scrap out a win."

Moores added: "We have got to be more disciplined in our bowling, our fielding needs to go up 20 per cent and the batters need to take more responsibility."

Robin Martin-Jenkins has failed a fitness test on his side strain and plays for the Second XI in their Championship clash at Northants starting today.

Lancashire have doubts over Peter Martin (knee) and Glen Chapple (side) but their side is packed with potential matchwinners, including Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan.
