A former drug user has been jailed for taking part in an attack on two men.

Pieter Fox, 26, was one of a group that set upon the pair as they left The Downsman pub in Hangleton, Hove, last July.

Marcus Fletcher, prosecuting, told Lewes Crown Court that one of the victims saw Fox throw a glass in his friend's face.

Fox, of Seafield Road, pleaded guilty to a count of affray and a separate charge of theft from a car that belonged to a friend.

Guy Russell, defending, said: "Mr Fox has always denied having anything to do with the beer glass at all."

The court heard Fox had a history of dishonesty and was serving a 21-month sentence.

Fox was jailed for six months for the affray and three months for theft, to run concurrently, with the sentence beginning at the end of his current jail term.
