TV presenter Zoe Ball will reveal details of her career plans in an exclusive interview given to a Sussex hospital radio station.

Guy Lloyd, a volunteer DJ on Coastway Radio, was invited to interview the TV and radio presenter at her home in Hove after he sent her a letter asking her to appear on his programme.

Patients at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, the Sussex Eye Hospital and Worthing Hospital will be the first to hear the interview when it goes on air on Monday at 7pm.

Guy, 26, said: "I was totally amazed. I wrote asking if she would do a Desert Island Discs-type programme on Coastway and she replied saying she couldn't come to the station but suggested I interview her at home instead."

Guy, who also works as a drug rehabilitation worker, spent a couple of hours at the home Zoe shares with her DJ husband Norman Cook.

Guy said: "I arrived with a bunch of flowers and she invited me in for a quick tour and a cup of tea. The house was absolutely gorgeous, with minimalist furniture, wooden floorboards and a great view of the sea.

"Norman was running around talking to various people on the phone but he did introduce himself and joined Zoe for a few photographs. They both gave me a lot of their time."

During the interview Zoe dished the dirt on Radio 1 and said she regretted giving up the Live and Kicking show which she considered the best thing she had ever done.

Guy said: "She said for the time being she wanted to concentrate on being a mother but was thinking of advertising her services to local radio. She was considering doing a show on a local radio station."

She also spoke about her father Johnny Ball's work as a TV presenter and selected a few records from her favourite bands.

Guy also persuaded her to do a couple of jingles for the weekly radio programme he does on the Palace Pier.

Guy, of Cromwell Road, Hove, said: "We got on really well. There was really good chemistry and I came away feeling I'd just made a new best friend which is probably the effect she has on everybody. She was really lovely.

"She said she was a fan of the pier radio and said she might consider co-presenting a show with me one day. She told me to stay in contact."

Guy also plans to broadcast excerpts of his interview with Zoe during his show on the Palace Pier on September 8, between 5pm and 10pm.
