All three Horsham teams will be in action this weekend when the curtain rises on the British League with 60 matches.

The first team, led by Worthing's Andy Walker, will play four games at Barnet as will the seconds at Barking.

In division three (south), the thirds and Hastings play at Halstead, Essex.

Hastings will be captained by Sussex women's champion, Rose Rainton. In her team will be Eastbourne champion Stuart Hobden.

Sussex champion Ritchie Venner has signed for Darlington. Darlington manager Keith Wilson said: "Ritchie is a great team player with vast experience that will give my team stability. He has been ranked No.4 in my squad and will play in six away matches, starting next month at Reading."

Sussex County secretary Alan Beames, has announced that Sussex has entered the new National Junior League.

They will play at the King Alfred Centre, Hove, from October 13-14. It is the first time the venue has been used for a national table tennis event for more than 30 years.

Beames said: "Eight Sussex teams will be needed at Hove. Hollingbury, North Mundham and Horsham are in. We are awaiting entries from Hollington, Wealden and South West Sussex."

The 66th Sussex Open Grand Prix will be staged at Hastings from October 13-14.
