It was very disturbing that Superintendent Fox of Brighton Police admitted on a local BBC broadcast on Wednesday, August 29, that it was necessary to take police officers from other areas at the weekend to police the central area of the city.
Because the outer areas are not sufficiently policed, there should be a reduction of payment to the Sussex Police Authority.
Failing this, the night clubs that are making large profits, plying these vulnerable people with intoxicating drinks and other addictive ingredients, should be made to pay towards the increased cost of maintaining law and order.
