Crawley's Michael Alldis is eagerly awaiting an inquiry into his British super-bantamweight title fight against Patrick Mullings.

Champion Alldis lost his crown on a controversial points decision at Wembley Conference Centre in July.

However, Mullings has now been asked to answer certain allegations at a British Boxing Board of Control hearing on September 12.

If the outcome went against the Harrow fighter, Alldis could be reinstated as British champion or be asked to challenge for the vacant crown.

Whatever happens, Alldis has rubbished talk that he will fight Brian Carr for the Commonwealth title in Glasgow in November.

Alldis revealed his promotors, Matchroom, have put a reserve on the Commonwealth title for him, which they are entitled to do.

However, he is under no obligation to go ahead with that and has certainly not made any firm plans.

Alldis said: "It has been suggested I will fight Brian Carr for the Commonwealth title but it will not be in Scotland. I know that for a fact.

"Carr's promoter, Tommy Gilmour, said it was signed and sealed for November but that is not true.

"I don't mind fighting Brian Carr but certainly not up there. I will be fighting on October 20 in either Crawley or London. I am not stepping any further north than Watford."

If Alldis had beaten Mullings at Wembley, he would have won the Lonsdale belt to keep, as it would have been a third successful defence of the title.

That scenario may also have to be discussed, depending on the outcome of the hearing.
