A woman who plunged down a 15ft hole at a castle was rescued by firefighters.
The fire brigade were called to Pevensey Castle on Saturday after the 27-year-old woman, who was visiting the castle with her boyfriend, fell down a gap under the drawbridge into the pit.
Firefighters put a ladder down the hole and used a spinal board and ropes to haul her up. They spent an hour at the castle.
The woman was taken to hospital but was not seriously injured.
It was the second time this year firefighters have had to rescue someone who had fallen down the hole.
