Nick Nurse is lining up four more signings as he bids to take the Brighton Bears into Europe.

The new Bears coach has already brought in star point guard Randy Duck on an unprecedented three-year deal.

He expects to fill the remaining two slots for American players in the next few days and will add one or two English signings.

Nurse, who took London Towers to the southern conference title last season, revealed: "I have agreed deals verbally with these guys and the contracts are due to be coming back in all but one position.

"For the last English player I have narrowed it down to three or four guys and it will come down to budget."

Errol Seaman and Dave Wahl are likely to return but Daniel Hildreth, James Brame and Chris Wright face a more uncertain future.

Nurse insisted: "They have certainly not been discarded. Once the other parts are taken care of we will see about them but there will certainly be a lot of new faces."

Duck is likely to be used alongside Mike Brown, releasing last season's co-captain from point guard duties.

Nurse added: "I have always seen Mike as a two guard. He's got great defensive abilities and he can shoot the basketball.

"He's probably going to play five minutes a game, if that, at point guard and the rest at two."

Bears have re-floated their season ticket offer on the back of the Duck deal. Fans can buy reduced rate tickets via the website at brightonbears.com.

Former Bears star Steve Nelson has signed up with Worthing Thunder for the new Conference season along with rebounding powerhouse Dwayne Martin.

Sean Hampton has re-joined and last season's star player Paul Mundy-Castle has ended doubts as to his future by signing for another year. Thunder have a friendly with Thames Valley at St Andrew's School, Worthing, on Thursday (7.30pm).
