Jimmy Dack marked his first Dr Marten's League appearance at the Broadfield Stadium with the opening goal in Reds' 2-0 win against Newport, Isle of Wight.
Dack was the provider for most of the game, and from his tenth minute free-kick Keith Sharman glanced a header just wide.
Crawley went ahead on 22 minutes as Dack beat his defender on the left of the box and floated a cross over Colin Matthews and into the corner of the net.
On 83 minutes Dack was at the heart of the action again, his pass for Warren Bagnall seeing him run on only to be fouled, allowing Ian Payne to net from the spot. Bagnall was sent off on 86 minutes for a second yellow card after charging down a free-kick.
