The driver of a car which smashed into a tree has died in hospital from his injuries, it emerged today.
Craig Wild's Volvo 440 left the main road between Bodiam and Staple Cross at 11.42pm on August 5 and hit the tree.
Mr Wild, 31, of Main Road, Bodiam, and his passenger, a 47-year-old man from Hastings, were taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings, where Mr Wild died on Wednesday.
