John Gallagher, of the British Association of Motorists (Letters, September 5), claims a democratic right to bully traffic wardens at their homes.

This is not democracy; it is mob rule.

It also suggests a goal of generating publicity for the BAM, a hitherto little-known organisation apparently without a web site.

As Mr Gallagher sets such store by democracy, may we know who elected him and how?
