Former Albion defender John Crumplin has taken on a new role.
John, 34, who was known as Genius during his eight-year spell with the Seagulls, has started in business as a sports therapist and fitness trainer.
After the Albion, for whom he played in more than 300 first team games, he joined Three Bridges as player-manager and now plays for St Leonards.
His clinic, called simply John Crumplin, Sports Therapy Clinic, is based at Shoreham FC's clubhouse in Middle Road.
John said: "Like most professional sportsmen I've suffered injuries and have received manipulation and massage to help with recovery so I understand what people need.
"I believe in treating the whole area around an injury because although pain may be restricted to just one site it is often not just that point that has been affected.
"We now know the benefits of proper massage to loosen tightness of joints and muscles and relieve stress and the benefits of warming up and warming down after a game."
To the trophies he won as a player he can now add his certificate as a qualified sports injury therapist.
He passed with flying colours the premier diploma course in fitness training, a worldwide recognised qualification.
John said: "I'm not only treating sports injuries. There are plenty of other injuries people pick up as they go about their daily business.
"People can pull a muscle just getting out of bed or standing awkwardly. But proper treatment can save a lot of pain."
John can be contacted on 0781 221 0474.
