A Chinese dragon will lead a parade through the streets of Moulsecoomb to open the Brighton estate's first community festival on Sunday.
The procession will go from Hillview Family Centre in Hodshrove Road to the green outside the leisure centre in Moulsecoomb Way.
The green will be packed with stalls, games and sideshows as well as exhibitions from the many groups set up since the area was given a £48 million Government regeneration grant in May last year.
There will also be musicians, artists and kite-flying groups.
Organiser Dave Barnard, chairman of the East Moulsecoomb Tenants' Association, said: "We want to make it a good, positive day for the whole community. After years of having a bad image we want to create something positive."
The parade starts at 10am and the festival continues until 6.30pm.
To book a stall, contact Mr Barnard on 01273 383172 or 694318.
