A new scheme is being launched to help thousands of people find their way around one of the busiest hospitals in Sussex.
Volunteers are needed to form a new welcoming service at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
The volunteers would be able to give information and escort visitors towards their destination.
Grace Davies, voluntary services manager at the hospital, said: "Anyone who has visited the Royal Sussex knows what a maze lies beyond the entrances.
"It is difficult for patients, relatives and other visitors to find their way around the hospital.
"But to set this up we need a new team of volunteers. We need at least ten enthusiastic people who are smiling and friendly, good at giving directions and physically fit."
Other schemes being considered by the hospital to improve access are the installation of "talking signs" that can give directions to visitors at the press of a button.
Mrs Davies is hoping to get the welcoming service running this month.
Training and support is given to volunteers and expenses are paid.
Anyone able to help should call 01273 664533.
