Police are tackling one of their strangest cases - the disappearance of 50 frozen flying fish.
Five packs of the fish, a delicacy in the Caribbean, were being carried home by a London woman who had flown into Gatwick from Barbados.
They were packed with other luggage in the boot of her car. As she drove around an airport roundabout leading to the M23 motorway, the vehicle's boot flew open and the bag containing the fish fell out.
Another motorist alerted her to the incident but the 27-year-old woman, from Thornton Heath, Surrey, had to continue along the M23 slip road before being able to turn around and retrace her route.
In the few minutes this took, the bag and its contents disappeared.
Gatwick police spokesman Kevin Clark said: " We carried out normal lost property procedure but looking for missing flying fish is one of the more unusual things we have had to deal with. We would welcome any information from the public about what happened to them."
