Read what the coach, skipper and players had to say about winning the second divisiuon title.
PETER MOORES (Coach): "It's the best achievement I have known since I came to the county in 1985, it eclipses everything else. The supporters have been so loyal, it was nice to reward them."
CHRIS ADAMS (Captain): "It would be easy to single out so many good individual performances but this has been a team effort. We have a great spirit, a wonderful work ethic and, just as importantly, a team for the future."
RICHARD MONTGOMERIE: "It's an awesome feeling, both on a personal note because of the success I've had and from a team point of view which is more important."
MURRAY GOODWIN: "My first season of county cricket has been hard physically, but I've enjoyed it tremendously. Scoring runs is nice, but being part of such a great team who have been successful is even more satisfying."
BAS ZUIDERENT: "I'm a little bit disappointed how things finished for me after the season I had, but to be part of something like this feels really special. Seeing guys like James Kirtley and Mark Robinson achieve what they did makes it even more memorable."
MICHAEL YARDY: "A year ago I wasn't sure whether I would make it or not so to be sitting here 12 months on and being part of something like this is superb. A lot of people thought we'd finish with the wooden spoon so it's nice to prove a few wrong."
ROBIN MARTIN-JENKINS: "My maiden hundred was a personal highlight, but there have been so many great team performances. We always said we could bowl sides out if we had runs on the board and that is what has happened."
MATT PRIOR: "It's been an unbelievable season, both for me personally because I established myself in the team and for the club itself."
TIM AMBROSE: "I am really pleased with the way I have done since I came into the side and to be part of this success is even more special because it's something I didn't expect to be a part of so quickly when I joined Sussex at the start of the season."
MARK DAVIS: "The work ethic in this side has helped us win a lot of games. I don't think anyone can say that we are not worthy champions."
JASON LEWRY: "I've been here since 1994 and I never thought I would be part of a moment like this. I think the game which sums up the season was when we bowled Derbyshire out and it started raining half an hour later. I knew then that we would be champions."
JAMES KIRTLEY: "Captaining the side when we beat Worcestershire at Horsham was a highlight for me because I think it gave us the belief to think we could get promoted. Personally it's been a fantastic season, but the success we've had has been a team thing and wonderful to be part of."
MARK ROBINSON: "It's a fantastic way to finish off. I've found my cricketing home at Hove and the supporters have always been great to me so to help the side bring the club some success is really special."
